5 Best Map Add-Ons For World of Warcraft

There are many World of Warcraft add-ons and you can experiment with different ones and see which ones you like most, but I personally have made my choice and here are my top 5 World of Warcraft Map add-ons which I use for finding various things on the map as well as improve the looks of my mini-map.

1. Carbonite – this is my favorite add-on for questing and finding my way around. There is a nifty arrow showing you the direction you should follow to get to the quest objective as well as a list showing the closest quests you have on the map so you can choose which quest you would like to complete first. Once I used it for a while I decided to remove it and to check my speed of leveling – and it was much slower. Using this add-on will save you time and the hassle of wondering what to do and where to go, so in my opinion this is a great choice of questing/map add-on.

2. Atlasloot Enhanced – This is my favorite add-on when it comes to browsing the possible loot tables of bosses in dungeons and raids and deciding where I want to go hoping to get some gear upgrades on my main or my alts. Using this add-on makes me plan my strategy better when I’m trying to gear up new character as quickly as possible as I go only to dungeons where there is something useful for me and skip the places where there is noting of interest for this particular class I’m gearing up.

3. Cartographer – This is my choice of world map add-on, allowing you to customize the world map in many ways. One of the features I like most especially for a new player is that the add-on uncovers all the zones on the map and you can easily see where to go instead of seeing grey unexplored zones. There are various plug ins for Cartographer as well, so getting this add-on is definitely good choice.

4. Gatherer – This is my "lifesaver" add-on for farming herbs and minerals as it remembers and saves every node you have gathered and places a note on the minimap with an icon of the specific resource. What makes it even better is that Gatherer shares nodes gathering with other members of your guild, meaning that if someone else gathers herb in a distant zone, the add-on will save that node on your information map as well. This way you quickly get a nice overview of possible spawn node spots in all zones.

5. SexyMap – This is a nice skin add-on changing the positioning and the looks of your mini-map in an interesting way. I think it is cool, mostly only for the looks as it does not offer so much improved functionality apart from being able to move your mini-map around and change the shape to your mini-map if you feel like – make it square instead of circle for example. I use it mostly because this way I can place the square mini-map better in my custom build UI and not have it circled at top of my screen and also because I really like the cool borders.
